The redevelopment of the Lucchini Antistadio will give the city a modern facility, able once again to host athletics competitions and events.

The 400-metre track will be upgraded from six to eight lanes and will include the 100-metre straight, as well as dedicated areas for jumps and throws. It will be one of the few tracks in Emilia-Romagna with national certification from FIDAL, the Italian Athletics Federation.

The project also includes new changing rooms, an infirmary, technical rooms, parking areas and external works. The historic stand has been refurbished and complemented by a second structure designed in continuity with the existing one, bringing the total capacity to 754 seats.

During the execution phase, CAIREPRO is responsible for construction supervision and safety coordination.

“This is an important project for the neighbourhood, for the city and for the entire athletics and running community,” said Roberta Li Calzi, Councillor for Sport of the Municipality of Bologna, during the update meeting with the media and Bologna’s sports clubs.
