Organisation of volumes and spaces

The project concerns an office building within Lot A1 of the detailed development plan for the Mancasale district in Reggio Emilia. The building rises over nine above-ground levels and one basement level, used for parking and technical rooms.

The composition is based on the overlap of two volumes: a wider base and an L-shaped tower. The stair and lift core, made recognisable by its orange finish, together with the grey crown volume, makes the different parts of the building clearly legible.

Integrated design and interior comfort

All phases of the architectural, structural and building systems design were carried out, coordinating spatial layout, structures and technical systems within a single integrated process.
Continuous window bands provide good natural lighting for the workspaces, while aluminium sun-shading elements help control direct solar exposure and improve indoor comfort
