Education
The existing building, dating back to the late 1940s, no longer met the standards required for contemporary school facilities. The project involved the demolition and reconstruction of the “Don Pasquino Borghi” Primary School, with the aim of improving the quality, safety and functionality of the spaces.
The design reorganised the internal layout around today’s educational needs. Spaces were arranged to ensure flexibility, natural light and continuity between indoors and outdoors. Alongside the classrooms, the building includes a canteen, a multipurpose hall, laboratories and a teachers’ library.
The structure is entirely made of timber, designed to ensure appropriate seismic behaviour and full compliance with the requirements for school buildings. The choice of material made it possible to combine lightness, construction precision and integration with the building’s layout.
The building systems were developed as an integrated framework supporting comfort and energy efficiency. Climate control, energy production and ventilation were coordinated to ensure stable indoor conditions, air quality and reduced consumption throughout the building’s life cycle.
Construction supervision and safety coordination supported the entire execution phase, ensuring continuous control and consistency between design and realisation. Operational management made it possible to complete the works ahead of the initial construction schedule.
The building opened in September 2025, in time for the start of the school year, providing the community with a renewed and fully operational educational facility.
