Hospital reorganisation for the COVID-19 emergency

The project was part of the extraordinary plan to reorganise the hospital network during the COVID-19 emergency, with the aim of increasing the facility’s response capacity through the adaptation and reconfiguration of existing departments.

The works involved the conversion of the surgery department to create intensive and semi-intensive care beds, helping to improve the flexibility and resilience of the hospital system.

Building systems upgrades

The resuscitation department was expanded and renovated, with the creation of 6 new intensive care beds. The Medicine B department was upgraded in terms of building systems, preparing 12 inpatient rooms for semi-intensive treatments.

The operational area of the resuscitation department was expanded by reconfiguring existing spaces and relocating support functions into new rooms. The spaces were organised into modules separable by glass partitions, allowing flexible management.

Ventilation and climate control systems were fully upgraded to comply with current regulations and with the requirements for intensive care areas, ensuring high standards of safety and environmental quality.
