Functional upgrade

The project concerned the construction of a new covered area in front of the pharmacy and radiology entrances at Imperia Hospital.

The aim was to improve operational conditions during patient drop-off and pick-up, while providing protection from the weather for users and healthcare staff.

Structure and technical features

The canopy has a rectangular footprint and was built using a lightweight steel structure. Circular polycarbonate rooflights were integrated into the roof to enhance natural daylight.

The position of the structural elements was carefully studied to reduce interference with existing underground utilities and allow two ambulances to stop at the same time.

Complementary works and building systems

The project also included complementary works, such as the partial demolition of the existing roof, the resurfacing of pavements and asphalt areas, and the cladding of selected exposed technical installations.

Ordinary and emergency lighting systems were installed to support operational activities, together with architectural lighting designed to enhance the new structure’s key features.
