Residential facility for palliative care

“Casa Giuly” is a 14-bed local hospice, designed as a residential healthcare facility dedicated to palliative care. The building is conceived according to criteria of high energy efficiency and residential quality.

The architectural, structural and building systems design, including fire safety aspects, defined a compact and functional building integrated into the hilly context of Fiorano Modenese.

Functional organisation and landscape integration

The internal layout is organised into three distinct but interconnected areas: a public access area with administrative spaces and clinical assessment rooms; a residential area with bedrooms, living room, clinics and gym; and a support area with service rooms and kitchen.

The building is configured as a low-impact pavilion, developed on a single level to harmonise with the landscape. The choice of materials and colours contributes to creating a domestic and welcoming character.

Project funded by the Modena Local Health Authority, the Municipality of Fiorano and the no profit association “Amici per la vita”.
