The Fann Post Office project, winner of an international competition, concerns the development of a multifunctional tower designed to bring different uses together within a single architectural structure.
The project is based on a clear distinction between the two main frontages. To the south-west, the residential area faces the Fann district and the oceanfront; to the north-east, the office and commercial spaces are concentrated.
The building envelope is defined by the relationship between two main materials: terracotta and glass. The facade was designed according to bioclimatic principles, with a double-skin system that protects the interiors from solar exposure and improves comfort within the spaces.
Together with the building orientation and the natural ventilation supported by the sea breeze, these solutions make the interiors more comfortable and reduce the need for artificial climate protection.
