2020 -
Sports Facilities
Over the years, the “Giulio Bigi” Sports Arena has undergone three separate and progressive projects, focused on expansion, technical renewal and functional upgrading of the facility.
In 2016, the first phase involved the expansion and renovation of the sports arena. The project included the full development of architectural, structural and building systems design, together with fire safety design and safety coordination.
The work was developed through a multidisciplinary approach, integrating layout, structural and technical aspects within a coordinated process. The aim was to bring the facility up to the required standards and improve its functionality and safety.
In 2020, the project continued as a natural development of the previous works, focusing on the reorganisation of service areas and the upgrade of building systems.
Structural and building systems design, together with safety coordination during both design and construction phases, ensured technical continuity and operational control throughout the project.
The most recent project, completed in 2024, involved the transformation of the area above the west stand into a hospitality space for Pallacanestro Reggiana (the professional basketball team of Reggio Emilia). Architectural, building systems and fire safety design defined a flexible environment, able to host up to 84 guests during matches and adaptable for events and networking activities.
The design focused on optimising existing spaces, integrating service functions and meeting regulatory requirements, expanding the role of the arena as a place for sport, hospitality and representation.
