Concept for a replicable school model

Architectural design for self-contained school units to be built across Libya, with particular attention to the southern desert regions and more remote areas. The proposal defines a simple, flexible and replicable model designed to provide access to primary and secondary education even in the most isolated communities.

The basic unit is designed to accommodate up to 240 students and provide the full cycle of compulsory education, adapting to the different needs of local communities.

Functional organisation and learning spaces

The system consists of a main teaching building and a series of satellite buildings for supporting functions. The main building forms the centre of school activities and includes classrooms and spaces for core subjects.

The satellite buildings accommodate complementary functions such as an indoor sports hall, dining hall, technical rooms, equipment storage and support spaces for teachers and collective activities. The arrangement of the buildings can be adapted to the needs of each village or neighbourhood while maintaining a clear layout and a straightforward construction system.
