Developed and detailed design for the redevelopment of the square and internal courtyards of Arceto Castle, within the walled part of the complex. The project redefined the paving of the open spaces with the aim of restoring material continuity and coherence to the system of routes.
The courtyards were restored with large cobblestone surfaces, bordered by pedestrian bands in split-finish Luserna stone, providing access to the surrounding buildings. The choice of cobblestone pavement reflects the intention to maintain a direct relationship with the historic and material identity of the place.
The project also improved accessibility by introducing paved routes that make the spaces easier to use and reduce architectural barriers. The entrance road was organised with a central stone strip, flanked by river cobble edges in continuity with the overall image of the castle.
