Agrifood Platform and local market
The Agrifood Platform project concerns the development of an integrated facility for the collection, processing and distribution of agricultural products in the Central River and Lower River regions of The Gambia.
The project was created to strengthen local supply chains through an infrastructure capable of supporting both domestic markets and exports.
Integrated design and relationship with the territory
The project was developed through a coordinated approach covering urban planning, building design, structures and building systems, with particular attention to energy and water resource management. It also includes the study of sewage networks and treatment systems, together with environmental assessments related to the site, geology and the overall impact of the development.
The selected site is located in Jenoi, in a strategic position along the Trans-Gambia Highway, the country’s main north-south connection route. This location supports logistics and commercial flows between production areas and the main target markets.
